"HOLLYWOOF"

This summer I was contacted by the company that
does the gift bags for the Oscars and Grammys  and
asked to be in their HollyWOOF gift bags that they
give to 25 A-list dog loving celebrities.  They would
all get a portrait of one of their loved dogs by me.
We were so excited and honored to be chosen to be
included in this exciting program.  Through this
I have met many wonderful, dog loving people and
been introduced to wonderful dog sites and blogs
that received the press on this.  Thank you all for
you kind words and support of my artwork and
love of painting dogs.  Keep you all posted of
any developments! Hopefully I will get to paint
some celebrity dogs!

Love of Dogs Passed On

Lilly and her niece Maggie
in the studio.

Today I am puppy sitting my grand puppy Maggie. She is my son Jamie and his wife Alysia's dog.

She is the perfect dog for them.  A year ago Jamie called and said that they were looking to get a dog, taking their time and researching, knew that they wanted to get a rescue.  A few weeks later I got an e-mail and a picture of this adorable little spotted puppy with a note here is Maggie!

Jamie totally loves this dog, and has proven to be a wonderful puppy parent and their matched level of energy is perfect.  Maggie hikes, rock climbs and follows him skiing and loves it, and also goes to work with him.
( He lives and works in Vermont, very dog friendly state, more states should be like them.)
They seem to both have the need for adventure.  It is wonderful to see how the love for dogs has been passed on to him and the wonderful relationship that he and his dog have.

Makes a Mom proud, especially a Mom as dog crazy as me.

The Art of Dogs

Found this quote, means a lot to Loved Dogs Art.

"I would rather see the portrait of a dog that I know, than
all the allegorical paintings they can show me
in the world"

Snowy Puppy Muse Inspiration

Lilly not so happy about the snow today!

Lilly is a never ending source of inspiration and laughs.
Her first walk in the snow this winter in which she was
excited to play in the fluffy white stuff, was the idea for
the painting " Winters First Walk" .  March 1st snow storm,
not so happy walking in the deep snow.  Mommy and her
wish we were in our beloved Savannah.

Painting a Princess

I love painting all breeds of dogs but there is something
so beautiful about a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Every dog has a special story.

Every dog has a special story. I love learning about each dog that I have the honor of painting . Their stories are reminders of their importance in our lives. The unconditional love and the joy they give to their families. Each dog I paint is a very loved dog.
